VR Hangout: Explore Rec Room in Virtual Reality In-Person
The Library Makerspace invites you to a fun, beginner-friendly session where you can try out virtual reality for yourself! We’ll be exploring Rec Room, a free VR social platform full of games, activities, and creative spaces. Whether you want to play, explore, or just see what VR is all about, this is the perfect place to start.
At this session, you will learn:
- The basics of using a Meta Quest 2 VR headset – Get familiar with the hardware and how to navigate virtual environments.
- How Rec Room works – Explore games, social rooms, and creative tools in one of the most popular free VR platforms.
- How to move, interact, and have fun in virtual space – Learn the controls, join in activities, and hang out with others in a shared virtual world.
We do not recommend this workshop to users who may experience difficulty with motion sickness or dizziness.

The First 7 Weeks (F7W) programme at University of Limerick (UL) is designed to help new UL students settle in and successfully navigate their first semester on campus.
From a warm welcome and helping students find their way around UL, to getting them acquainted with their new course and helping them develop new skills, the First 7 Weeks initiative supports students to make the transition to UL as seamlessly as possible.

Don't Forget to Visit Us in the F7W Hub!
The First 7 Weeks Hub is located in the Student Courtyard and is open to all new students Monday to Friday 9:00-19:00. Everyone is welcome. There is free tea and coffee daily and the use of a microwave so why not drop in and say hello? Our First 7 Weeks hub staff are all current UL undergrad and post-grad students who remember what it was like to be in first year. They are there to help you with any issues you may have. |
